Last night in hospital

Should be going home tomorrow morning.

She is a Power Peanut

So says the doctor.

Added an hour

Looks like the blog was set to Pacific time instead of Mountain, so everything was an hour off. For example, I did not manage to post Riley's first photo three minutes before she was born. Everything's fixed now.

Now with hair!

Day 2: Less Monkey, More Bear

Stats: 6 pounds, 19.5 inches

At 2:39 AM, 4/27/2007

Riley Isabella Feldman

Looks a little like a monkey, sounds a little like a duck.

Ten

Ten centimeters dilated. Ah Ah Ah.

Doc says we're ready but we should wait just a few minutes to let the kiddo move down more on her own. Everything looks good. Very soon now....

Eight

Dilated 8 cm. Almost there. Doc says we'll be done in 1.5 hours.

Making progress

Looks like we're getting closer. Doc will be here soon to check.

The cameras are ready. Should be no need for flash with the R-Pod lens.

Water broke

Contractions about 5 minutes apart. It'll probably still be a few hours.

Amazing what

a quarter-cup of bupivacaine and synthetic narcotic can do.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

And now he's on the way

The anesthesiologist, that is.

Is there an anesthesiologist in the house?

They've wheeled in the epidural kit! But not the person who knows how to use it.

I think I can figure it out, though.

Four

Four centimeters! Ah Ah Ah.

And... we're back.

Took a calm lap around the third floor. Have you seen the Comcast commercials with the turtle family, the Slowskys? It's like that. I can't wait to hear "You push it!"

We're going for a walk

After all, why not?

Did I say three minutes apart?

I meant "two to seven," though the chart shows 15 for the last one.

Going to be a good long while, folks

Trust me, I will let you know when R-Pod arrives, and I'll post all R-Pod-related interim information here. I'm turning off the ringer on the phone. Post comments here instead. It's fun.

I'm guessing that contractions are

about three minutes apart.

Gotta be at least 3 cm

I'm not a doctor, but I play one in the hospital.

The "Before" Photo

14 Hours So Far

They gave us grape popsicles.

Contractions coming a little faster now. Think we're still at about 2.5 cm.
