Super Mega Birthday Post!

I, Riley Potamus, am one year old today!

We had a super duper birthday party yesterday.

Wow. One year old.

My friend Rosie came to the party.

Here's my friend Clara playing with bubbles.

Really, there was no shortage of bubbles.

Sliiiiide!

This is my friend Amelia.

And this is my friend Megan.

And here's my friend William on the dragon.

Soon enough, it was time for my first cupcake!

I used my wish to wish for more cupcakes, which I think shows a lot of confidence in cupcakes, since this one would be my first.

Then it was time to dive in.

Yum!

Grandma Marianne baked these.

I learned many valuable eating habits.

Time for instructor-led play, which I can't say I prefer over free-roaming time.

Still, though, I am a full year old and can feign enthusiasm as the situation dictates.

Here's Rosie again.

Amelia too!

William was in charge of the Great Blue and Orange Ball Race.

Here's my friend Noah. You've seen him before.

It's William one more time.

Here's my friend Isabella. She didn't want to leave. Nobody did!

Clara and William were the grown-ups of the bunch.

Alone time!

I think I liked the Ball Pit best.

Maisie agrees!

To sum up, I highly recommend the Kangaroo Kingdom in Lafayette, Colorado, for all your baby-party needs. My only reservation pertains to one obvious shortcoming:

No kangaroos!

I saw the zoo today. Oh boy!

Mom and dad took me, Riley Potamus, to the zoo on Sunday!

Transportation was strictly first-class.

The fishies were great.

Then I saw something really fantastic.

Wow!

It is always good to meet your namesake.

Then we went on my first merry-go-round ride.

After that, a quick break to reconnect with nature.

Behold the zoo!

Clara's Yard

I'm sitting here in a yard. It's Clara's yard. Clara is my friend.
I got the dress from Sydney. She is my NYC friend.

Do you have friends too?

Oh, enough of the Mr. Rogers stuff. Pinwheel!!!

I heard someone say that pinwheels are for kids, and I'll stop playing with them one day.

P'shaw!

Black background from grandma Marianne

Grandma Marianne sent this spiffy photographic background. I like to read on it.

I read books. This is a book.

I like junk mail even more than books. Biting into a nice piece of junk mail just makes my day.

Please don't stare at me while I'm eating.

Dress, toys, and working for the man

This is my purse. Julie gave it to me. It can hold rabbits or torn-up mail, both of which I really enjoy.

And this is my new dress from Aunt Phyllis.

It works on me.

Here's the whole thing.

So, yeah, I'm wearing this new dress and getting my pho--

Whoa! I have gone off-background!

Phew. That was scary.

Whoosh!

I really enjoy this stackable toy from our good friends at Fisher-Price. (It was given to me by my weekday parents at First Friendships Day Care.) It is lightweight and fun. I find it great for travel or just having a good educational time at home.

And now to sit around waiting for my endorsement check.

It's a living.
